ICAI Pune Convocation: 950 CAs Graduate, Leaders Stress Ethics and Future-Ready Skills

Pune: The ICAI Pune Convocation witnessed the graduation of over 950 Chartered Accountants, with industry leaders urging them to embrace Artificial Intelligence, lifelong learning, and ethical practices to remain future-ready in a fast-changing business environment.

The ceremony, held at Bantara Bhavan, Baner, was graced by CA Yashwant Kasar, Vice-Chairman of Cosmos Bank, who highlighted the importance of continuous upskilling.

“Technology is advancing faster than ever before. CAs must go beyond qualifications, embrace specialization, and cultivate a holistic understanding of business. Lifelong curiosity and willingness to step out of the comfort zone are the true drivers of success,” Kasar said.

ICAI Pune Convocation Highlights Role of Technology and ESG in Accounting

The ICAI Pune Convocation also emphasized the growing impact of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices in accounting. Speakers encouraged young Chartered Accountants to contribute to social responsibility along with professional excellence.

Senior CA Sharad Vaze reminded graduates that respect for the profession comes with responsibility, urging them to uphold hard work, ethics, and consistency.

CA Chandrashekhar Chitale, Central Council Member of ICAI, noted that Indian CAs are gaining recognition globally, with new opportunities opening in Europe, Canada, and Singapore. “This global reputation must be preserved with integrity and quality,” he said.

ICAI Leaders at Pune Convocation Stress Ethics and Adaptability

The ICAI Pune Convocation was attended by senior members including CA Umesh Sharma, Regional Council Member; CA Sachin Miniyar, President, ICAI Pune Branch; CA Pranav Apte, Vice President; CA Nilesh Yewalekar, Secretary; CA Neha Phadke, Treasurer; and committee members CA Sarika Dindokar, CA Pritesh Munot, and CA Nandkukar Kadam.

Speakers highlighted that adaptability to new technologies, combined with ethics and quality, would remain the foundation of the Chartered Accountancy profession in the coming years.
